Tack Support
Help for Tack on macOS 15 or later
Tack is developed and provided by Shanglong Ning. Need a hand? Email hi@cryptoanalyzer.app. Include your Tack version, macOS version, and the steps that led to the problem. We aim to respond within two business days.
Quick help
Tack is still running after I close its window
Tack stays available from its menu-bar icon so quick capture continues to work. Use Tack → Quit Tack when you want to stop the app completely.
Edge Auto-Hide is not appearing
Enable Edge Auto-Hide in Settings, move the Tack window against the left, right, or top edge of a screen, then move the pointer away. Hover over the thin edge strip to expand it again.
iCloud notes are not syncing
Confirm that iCloud Drive is available for the same Apple Account on each Mac, then open Settings → iCloud in Tack. Sync is optional and off by default.
The local helper will not connect
Open Settings → Connections, confirm that the helper is enabled, and follow any prompt to approve Tack under System Settings → General → Login Items & Extensions. To connect Claude Code or Cursor, click Connect and approve that app's standard configuration file in the macOS file picker; Tack merges only its own entry. The helper accepts authenticated connections only from apps on the same Mac. If a client reports “unauthorized,” reconnect it from Tack or copy a fresh generated configuration. Never email your bearer secret.
How do I back up my notes?
Use Tack's export or full-backup command and save the result to a location you control. Do this before deleting the app or resetting its data.
Reporting a problem
Settings → About can create a diagnostic bundle for you to inspect and attach manually. It is never uploaded automatically. Remove anything you do not want to share before emailing it.
